WHAT INSPIRES US
by Zena / in Art
I’ve been bowled over by German photographer Werner Pawlok’s Cuba photos all week and went to see them for real (as well as staring at several photos online for ages) in South Molton Street’s Lumas Gallery. I cannot get over the perfect, rich sunset colours – all my favourites perfectly combined somehow (and I’ve always been quietly fascinated by Cuba). They satisfy me greatly. I drew breath when I saw them ‘live’ and large in the gallery itself. Haven’t been proactively to an exhibition for years.
Pawlok’s work reminds us that it takes focus and energy to capture the spirit of a place, to make people stop in their tracks with stunning visuals. Organisations communicate all the time, and yet the power of visual storytelling is largely a missed opportunity.
Imagine photos of this quality being on the wall in your place of work. What would they make you think? Feel? Do? How could they change the conversation? The culture of your business?
