WHAT INSPIRES US

ERIC RAVILIOUS

by Alastair / in Creativity

It’s the final weeks for this fabulous exhibition and it was packed from 10am.  I went with my brother and he coined the phrase, ‘Ravilious tartan’, to describe the amazing cross-hatching he does in his skies, shadows, across fields and hills.  He layers his beautifully pastel colours, often at a perpendicular angle, creating this ’tartan’.  It’s his signature.

WANT TO THINK DIFFERENTLY? VISIT A (DULWICH) PICTURE GALLERY

Whether it’s an exhibition at Dulwich, Banksey’s Dismaland or a visit to The Baltic in Gateshead, visiting art galleries is great for your business. Why? Because business means thinking with your ‘whole-brain’. That’s the ‘left’ rational, analytical style along with the ‘right’ conceptual and intuitive style. It means balancing all view points and seeing all the possibilities. At Creamer & Sundt, exhibitions like Eric Ravilious at Dulwich are opportunities to reflect, create and connect. So, when we’re at art exhibitions, technically, we’re working. Galleries are spaces where you look a little closer, ponder a little longer and before you know it ideas are tumbling into your mind. It’s about being in the right frame of mind to let those brilliant ideas come to the front of your consciousness. What you do with those great ideas? Well – that’s over to you.
